map とは、音楽・出版・食・印刷・アート・社会運動をまたぐ、完全に独立した実践の場として2000年に、編集者である小田晶房と現在sweet dreams pressを運営する福田教雄によってスタートしました。 これらの中には、出版（map）とインディ・レーベル（compare notes / compass tone）、海外アーティスト招聘（Channel）、 suiroとなぎ食堂といったヴィーガン食堂とレシピ開発、リソグラフ印刷・製本スタジオ（hand saw press Kyoto）、 zine制作とワークショップ（dawg press）—— それぞれの活動が地図のように重なり合い、ひとつの文化的な地形をつくってきました。 このサイトはその全体のアーカイブであり、かつ現在の活動報告、のようなものです。
map started in 2000 as a completely independent platform spanning music, publishing, food, print, art, and social movements, founded by editor Akinobu Oda and Norio Fukuda, who now runs sweet dreams press. Its activities include publishing (map), indie labels (compare notes / compass tone), international artist residencies and tours (Channel), vegan restaurants and recipe development (suiro & nagi shokudo), a risograph printing and bookbinding studio (hand saw press Kyoto), and zine-making workshops (dawg press) —— each practice overlapping like a map, forming a single cultural terrain. This site is an archive of the whole, and something like a report on current activities.
「企画→執筆→編集→レイアウト→印刷→製本→断裁→販売」までを完全一人で行なう「D.I.Y.パブリッシング」を実践している基地。合言葉は、「頑張れば大抵のことはできる」。

@suiro.kyoto今から約20年前、ジャンク・ヴィーガンのスタート地点として話題を集めた東京・鶯谷町の「なぎ食堂」。その独自のメニューを記した２冊のレシピ本やエッセーをリリースすると共に、東京オルタナティヴ・シーンの憩いの場であったこの店は、2023年末惜しまれつつ終了。 そんな同店の魂はそのままに、料理は三段階ほど大きくステップアップさせて復活してきたのが、京都・吉田山の麓に位置するsuiroです。 基本、選べるメイン（大抵４種）に加え、８種類程度の惣菜、そして柔らか玄米にスープを加えたワンプレートを昼の12時から18時までお届けします！
